Academy of Management Annual Meeting Proceedings includes abstracts of all papers and symposia presented at the annual conference, plus 6-page abridged versions of the “Best Papers” accepted for inclusion in the program (approximately 10%). Papers published in the Proceedings are abridged because presenting papers at their full length could preclude subsequent journal publication. Impact of Information System Capabilities on Firm Performance: A Serial Multiple Mediating Model

    Published Online:https://doi.org/10.5465/AMBPP.2017.38

This study essentially investigates the effects of information system (IS) capabilities on firm performance. The combination of the resources and competencies that comprise IS capabilities is demonstrated using the resource-based view (RBV). A set of hypotheses is formulated to examine the impact of IS capabilities on decision-making performance and business process performance through the application of the serial multiple mediating model. Drawing on a sample of 204 firms in Turkey, the direct and indirect relationships among the study’s constructs are determined using structural equation modeling (SEM). The test results confirm the proposed serially mediating model. The study also demonstrates that multiple casual links are required for IS capabilities to have an impact on firm performance.
